This volume contains rounds two and half of three of the U.A. Sports Festival. Round two is a calvary competition where three classmates make the horse for a fourth. The fourth holds all the teams points in the form of a bandana, and must protect theirs while stealing bandanas from other riders. Deku got 10,000,000 points for coming in first during round one's relay race, and everyone else is in the hundreds. Everyone is coming after his team, so his strategy is to avoid them all as long as possible. The top four teams with the most points advance to the third round which is a 16-man tournament of 1-1 matches. In the first level of the tournament, Deku goes up against General Studies student Hitoshi Shinso, whose quirk is being able to control any person who verbally responds back to him.

In this volume, we're finishing up with villains who broke into the USJ by displaying All Mights heroics and a save from a few other teachers. Then it’s time for the UA Sports Festival, which is as popular as the Olympics were before everyone developed quirks. Event one is an obstacle course around the arena, complete with killer robots, tightrope walking, and a mine field. All Might talks to Deku beforehand about using the sports festival to announce to the world that he was a serious hero, and what better way to do that than winning the obstacle course! Of course, this paints a huge target on his back for the second event, coming in the next volume.

At school, the drama teacher recognizes Ty's friend Zack as Luke, who was Rendell's friend from so many years ago, and Zack can’t have that. As Uncle Duncan says goodbye to go back home for a while, Bode sees a keyhole at the base of his skull and starts to wonder if that’s what his new key opens. He shows Kinsey and Ty, and they find they can look inside Bode's head and see his thoughts and memories. They take out the lady in the well house, and Bode instantly forgets her.
