Suchan finds out a secret base for Pet Shop and can’t pass up the opportunity to cripple Breeder’s operations. But with everyone on high alert at Nest after the attacks, students are not allowed off campus for any reason. The group comes up with a plan to get off campus but ends up with a faculty chaperone at a Nest-sponsored resort house instead. They still manage to find their way to the secret base, and what Suchan and the A Team find at there is arguably way more than a group of first years could possibly hope to handle.

Letitia, for her part, continues to try to prove her worthy to the Halstead house and convince Erden to stay married to her.

Beatrice knows how to lay low; as soon as they cross the border into the Empire, she melts into old slave persona. She cuts off her gorgeous flowing locks, ditches her long, billowy skirts, and becomes the unassuming Chloe, ever amenable and focused solely on tidying and serving.

Riftan returns from the celebration in the capital to find foreign soldiers trying to penetrate his walls. His advisors manage to barely escape international incident as Riftan’s temper and protectiveness for Maxi threatens to escalate the entire situation. As tensions ease, Riftan is finally able to show Maxi all of the gifts he’s brought from the capital, including a beautiful new horse that she uses to join him on rides across Anatol. Maxi begins studying with Ruth and helping him with creating magical devices for protecting Anatol, as she has magical affinity and is literate. She continues to fear that someone will discover that she is a fraud of a noblewoman, incapable of leading people or being the head of a household.

Jinwoo is responsible for the safety of all the top hunters on the planet, and as we soon find out, there are massively evil forces amassing to take him down. He comes back from his trip to the US and soon has a supremely powerful gate opening up over Seoul, the likes of which no one has ever seen before. US hunter Thomas Andre and a German hunter come to South Korea to meet with Jinwoo as the gate has opened. Mighty creatures that look like magical beasts pick fights with these hunters before Jinwoo has a chance to intervene, putting countless lives at risk.

Rashta is now the empress of the Western Empire, but she finds herself in a difficult position thanks to the council of Count Ergi — she made herself the empress of the commoners, and now none of the nobles are on her side. In the Eastern Kingdom, Navier and Heinrey prepare for their public wedding and the night that will follow. Heinrey fears disappointing Navier. Sovieshu, who was invited to the wedding, is furious and pleads with Navier to change her mind about everything even though he's already gone ahead with his part of the plan.

He’s been warned not to go to America before because a certain S-ranked hunter and brother of a deceased hunter may want to have words with him about just what happened and how he and Jinho were the only survivors of a deadly gate what seems many moons and many levels ago. America also has some other questions for Jinwoo based on a magical beast that’s walking around bearing a terrible resemblance to someone close to Jinwoo. |
