With this volume, we conclude the action of Buggy the Clown and set sail once more. There’s a brief adventure on an almost uninhabited island where the small crew gain some fruit and another lesson about what’s really important in life, and it’s not always treasure. Then, it’s off to another village to hopefully get some real supplies, even though Luffy is sure that he’s lucky enough to not need things like food and water. In this village, they meet Captain Usopp who is captain of nothing but tall tales and a few village kids who like to pretend they’re pirates. Usopp is a favorite of the local well-to-do Miss Kaya, to the chagrin of her butler who thinks it shameful she would associate with the town lowlife. But it doesn’t take long for Luffy and Usopp to uncover a foul plot in this town.

Penelope is invited to have lunch with her whole family, which turns into another chance for the servants to slight her with childish utensils. She storms away, leaving her father to discover the indignity. To make up for it, he has the butler clear out the attic where Penelope liked to sit as a child. Even this turns problematic as she has a terse encounter there with Reynold that reveals much about why he loathes Penelope. Later, Penelope decides to take Eckles on an outing and outfit him more as a proper knight. The affection meter for Eckles is steadily increasing, but he also continues to prove how dangerous he can be. Prince Callisto hosts yearly Hunting Celebration where Penelope made such a scene last year as to be banned. The prince lifted her punishment based on their last encounter, but he's still at a very deadly level for Penelope!
Master Rei tries to help Mira overcome her shyness and make new friends, but it seems Mira is only comfortable talking to cute animal-type creatures, rather than others her age. Later, Master becomes sick and their magic goes wild, so the roles are reversed as Mira takes care of her master for a change. Once Master is feeling better, the two get to work replenishing some of the Master's medicinal ingredients, and Mira is shocked to see the cost in labor and ingredients. Then, Stella, one of Master Rei's old friends, comes by and finally gets to meet Mira, who she only knows through Rei's letters. Stella is an inventor and has created many awesome things, including crayons that draw in the air. Lastly, Rei and Mira reminisce about when Mira first came to live with Master Rei and how they started on the path of finding a way to control her powers.
