In their continued efforts to find a cook, Luffy has indentured himself for a year at the floating restaurant for damaging the ship. But, on the horizon is the fierce pirate Don Krieg who, until recently, commanded 5,000 men on an armada of ships. Recently, they had gone onto the Grand Line and had been single-handedly decimated by a fierce swordsman Zolo had been hunting before joining Luffy’s crew: “Hawkeye” Mihawk. Sanji, the sous chef of the restaurant ship, agrees to feed Don Krieg’s starving crew because he believes a chef’s calling is to feed people, but then he calls for all the chefs, and enlists Luffy’s help, to defend the restaurant once the pirates have recuperated.

A group of young orphan adventure seekers put together an investigation force to figure out some of the strange happenings around their town. One of their first cases is for their friend whose parents seem to have been replaced by lookalikes who are werewolves, but their investigation proves there is more than they first believed. Meanwhile, Mr. Jacob, who runs their orphanage, has a mysterious past that isn’t just connected to his history of making scary movies, and his daughter, Marysia, is recovering memories from her childhood that don’t add up. To complicate matters further, a hunter named Greta shows up in town to hunt the werewolves, and she also has some history with Mr. Jacob that isn’t all friendly.
As the corps battles with Kokushibo, the Upper Rank Demon #1, we dive into his backstory of four hundred years ago. There, we see him and his his twin brother, Yoriichi, who was born with a special mark on his forehead, and who grew up to develop the several breathing techniques for the Demon Slayer Corps. Kokushibo was immensely jealous of his twin’s exceptional skill with the sword, and he spent most of his life trying to learn and catch up to Yoriichi’s skill. In the present battle, Kokushibo goes against Himejima, who must rely heavily on his use of seeing the Transparent World to fight this powerful demon, as well as Tokito, Genya, and Sanemi.
The Japan Defense Force is reeling from the loss of one of their high ranking leaders in the continuing fight with the dangerous Kaiju No. 9. Kafka also finds himself with a piece on the back of his hand that will not un-transform from his Kaiju self. In the bowels of the Defense Force labs, a remnant of Kaiju No. 10 awakens and makes a deal with Vice-Captain Hoshina that he hopes will turn the tide against No. 9. Within the Defense Force, the scientists think they have located a candidate who is compatible to use some of the Force's weapons they've created using remnants of Kaijus, but to train to use them either results in a powerful Defense Force soldier, or death.
The goodwill tournament continues between the Kyoto and Tokyo jujutsu schools but it becomes clear very quickly that the Kyoto students have been given orders to kill Itadori. Todo, a strong student from the Kyoto school, takes Itadori on and challenges him to rethink what he knows about how he harnesses cursed energy The students square off against each other instead of fight the demons that have been released around the arena. We learn of Panda’s true nature and what makes him so special as he battles a student from Kyoto who has a similar situation. Maki and Mai come face to face and they use the battle to settle a familial dispute that has been raging for years.
At the welcoming ceremony of their high school, Himari falls in love with the vocals and guitar playing of Yori and becomes her biggest fan. With her confession of love, Yori falls in love with Himari, but in an actual sense of love, rather than an admiration of fandom. The other band members thinks this infatuation is the perfect fodder for Yori, who they have tasked with writing a love song. Yori isn’t sure she can be close with Himari and not continue to fall more in actual love with her. Himari, on the other hand, starts to examine whether what she's feeling is just admiration, or can she actually reciprocate Yori's feelings.
Luffy and his crew finish their fight with the Black Cat pirates, and their reward is a new ship: the Merry Go. Usopp decides that his time being a villager is done, and that he must finally be a pirate sailing the seven seas. Initially content to sail on his own, Luffy invites Usopp to join the crew even thought they disagree on who should be captain. The crew find a few more folks who know Zolo during a cannon practice “accident”, and Nami saves the day with her advanced sea knowledge and knowing the signs of scurvy. The group agrees that they need a cook to do something with all the wonderful stores they have in the hold. One of the new folks help steer the Merry Go towards a floating restaurant that might have a cook Luffy could persuade to join the crew, but a skirmish between a naval officer gets Luffy in hot water immediately upon arrival at the restaurant.
Kanao and Inosuke battle Doma to avenge their families and carry through Shinobu’s master plan for revenge, and Kanao uses a breathing technique that gives her a boost but may cost her in the end. Elsewhere, the Mist Hashira, Tokito, find Kokushibo, the Kizuki's Upper Rank #1 demon, who recognizes Tokito’s ancestors and believes he will be valuable as a demon. He tries to convince Tokito to convert while battling the Hashira and other Demon Slayers. Genya and Sanemi also come to help battle Kokushibo, who uses powerful Moon Breathing techniques despite being a demon. Himejima, the Stone Hashira, also joins the fray as Kokushibo is the most powerful they have all faced to this point.

Navier decides to ask Duke Kaufman about the mysterious love potion she received since he has a background in magic. The Duke demonstrates the potion and reassures Navier that he is in no danger of permanent effects, but it turns out to be much stronger than the Duke anticipates. He gets into an altercation at first with Heinrey, and later with Emperor Sovieshu himself because of his jealousy! The whole affair puts Navier’s trade talks with Hwa in jeopardy and gives Sovieshu some outrageous ideas about Navier’s love life. Heinrey must return to his own kingdom after some devastating news about his older brother's health. Navier finds herself friendless at a desperate time as Rashta becomes entangled high society drama that ends with an attempt on her life and Navier convincing Sovieshu not to immediately execute the man responsible. |
