This wholesome adventure story has some really wonderful main characters, and some fantastic bits of humor. Baeve is a headstrong hunter on the surface, but she suffers from self-doubt and second-guessing just like most people. Aengus is a bit of a blundering tag-along, and he brings out the best in Baeve and helps her out in true side-kick fashion. This book would be great for upper-elementary and middle school audiences, especially for fans of Lumberjanes and other feel-good adventure stories. Pat Nietupski's illustrations are very reminiscent of Teen Titans Go with a dash of Adventure Time. The characters have extremely expressive facial features for it being a rather simplistic art style. The coloring is pure and beautiful; things that seem luminescent feel that way on the page through carefully selected shades.
