Miyo has been kidnapped and is brought back to the Saimori house where Kaya and her mother try to force Miyo to refuse Kudo's marriage proposal. Kaya believes she will be able to rearrange fiancés and become Kudo's fiancée while giving Kōji to Miyo. Kōji was unable to stop the kidnapping from happening, but he does the next best thing: he brings Lord Kudo to the Saimori house. Lord Tatsuichi tries to stop Kudo from entering the Saimori house, and even forces a bewildered Lord Saimori to stand with him, but the two of them are no match for Kudo's superior strength. In another part of the kingdom, sinister actors put an evil plan into motion by digging up a sealed grave and introducing new grotesqueries into the world, which Kudo's battalion will have to investigate.

Rashta’s former owner confronts her at a New Years celebration, contradicting the Emperor, who assured everyone upon Rashta’s arrival that she was not a slave. As the rumors fly, Rashta tries to fabricate different rumors about a duchess in court so that attention will be moved off of her. But, her former slaver isn’t finished with her, as he reveals he is raising a child she birthed while on his estate. He and Rashta enter into a tenuous partnership where she pays him with jewels to raise the child but also do some of her dirty work. Empress Navier continues her pen-pal relationship with Prince Heinrey, reluctant to bring their friendship into public because of his reputation as a womanizer. Heinrey invites his friend, Count Ergi, to join him, and it becomes clear the two are up to something nefarious, although Navier hasn’t figured out what just yet. For her birthday Sovieshu, the Emperor, suggests a trip for just the two of them to the imperial villa, but Navier is still suspicious of any affection Soveishu shows her after taking on a mistress.

Asahi is leading the humans to war against the Draconians, all under the banner of saving a kidnapped Ruri. The fight is over before it begins thanks to the overwhelming strength of the Draconian fighters. Ruri still hasn’t confessed her true identity to the king, so Asahi’s repetitive accusation of kidnapping a human named Ruri bewilders most of the dragon court. After a botched attempt to escape the castle, Asahi starts to see what the world is like without her magic charming everyone, but she still doesn’t understand why people aren’t falling over themselves to help her. Ruri finally gets a moment of sweet closure by lecturing Asahi about her gullibility, but it may take several years of hard labor on Draconia’s prolific farm to sort everything out.

Through William’s efforts, the town of Torch Point has begun to thrive and accept people from all over the world. The latest group of refugees are a group of dwarves who have been wandering after their home in the Rust Mountain was seized by a fierce dragon. William welcomed them but hopes an increase in people doesn’t lead to an increase in crime. He sets the dwarves to work building things and helping around town so as to reduce their likelihood of resorting to crime to survive. He also notices one among them who stands out due to his bravery, his preferential treatment from other dwarves, and his conviction. William decided to take the young dwarf as his squire and train him to be a great warrior. It turns out, Al, the dwarf, is a direct descendant from the last king of the dwarves! While patrolling for reported sightings of undead, William gets another visit from Stagnate, the God of Death, but this time as a warning not to go after the dragon of Rust Mountain who destroyed the dwarves' civilization.

The group has to come to terms with what they have done to this world and still somehow get home. Ash and Izzy discover much of the secrets of how the world of Die came to be, and what toll it exacted from Sol. They create a plan to reunite with the others in order to go home, but first Ash must make a choice about who to use her Voice on. The reunited party They race to the center of Die to try to stop the vicious cycle between Earth and Die. There, they find more questions and more answers as to how this world came to be.
Vol 5: The Eleventh Hour
Magnus, Taako, and Merle are dispatched yet again for another Grand Relic. This next one is inside a small Western-style town in the desert that is currently protected by a bubble that keeps it separated from the rest of time. The relic they seek is a chalice that allows the wielded to control time itself. The three manage to pieces their way through the bubble and are immediately apprehended by a deputy, who is a suit of armor and a small talking bird. They are just becoming acquainted with the town when they are sent back to the beginning again, and they realize they’re stuck in a time loop!

Williams slays a wyvern and manages to become a Paladin as a reward. Since the lord of Whitesails has no men or resources to help the people of Beast Woods, William uses his money and influence to put together a band of mercenaries and trades folk who can fight back the beasts but also establish the villages as trading outposts. William becomes an unofficial lord of Beast Woods. On one of their quests, they run into a formidable chimera who lures them into a trap and decimates the group, even with William’s strength and skill. Will spirals into doubt and panic as he believes he is leading people into situations that are too dangerous.

In a United Kingdom that has already been ravaged by war, soldiers have magical Medium Stones that augment their deadly fighting skills. Uriel is dissatisfied with the powerful Eden Army, which uses their Medium to oppress and exploit others. She steals a Justice Light, a powerful type of medium, and absconds to join the Eclipse Rebels in the fight to bring Eden down. Uriel also has a mind for inventions and hopes her inside knowledge and creativity can bring more solutions to the Eclipse as they face a foe much larger and much more powerful than they. Along the way, Uriel has to prove herself to the rebels by not only providing them with valuable information but attuning with a stone that already has a master.
The Atelier is busy preparing spells and selling their goods at the Silver Eve festival. While out and about, Tetia stumbles upon a young boy who is avoiding the festival guards. She uses her sand tent to hide them both, and discovers that he is the crown prince of the kingdom, Eolio! He's slipped away from his bodyguards to more fully enjoy the festival, but he also fantasizes about being a witch. Tetia and Eolio switch cloaks for a while and walk around the various stalls. In another part of the festival, Agott sets her new spells on fire after learning the Head Librarian of the Tower of Tombs, her mother, will not be attending the festival and won't see her in the Silver Eve Procession. In another place, Coco and Tartah try to figure out how they can get into the procession as they are being forced to work with the Brimmed Hats and their former friend, Cuestas. They also find Dagda and realize that a seal has been inked on his chest - a counter clock seal, which is setting him back a day but only temporarily staving off his life-threatening injuries.
Lady Aurora and Lord Felix have been invited to a Lumis party, but Felix’ family is bitter rivals with the Lumises! This causes the family to go into overdrive planning for the two to have a spectacular debut. Felix’ mother and sister prepare them by gathering tons of information on nobles for them to memorize; a beautiful dress is commissioned from one of the kingdom’s most sought-after designers, and there is, of course, dancing lessons. While this started out as mostly a front, Felix begins to fall for Aurora, and his feelings come gushing out of him at the most unlikely of times - at the party in front of tons of nobles!
