Peter has finally retaken his body after having his brain swapped with that of Doc Ock for several months. Black Cat is completely ticked off at him for being caputured and humiliated; Electro’s powers are going wonky, and he blames the experiments Spider-Man (Doc Ock) ran on him. J. Jonah Jameson has to resign as Mayor of New York and blames Spidey. So, there’s a lot going against Peter! An encounter with the beings who killed the Watcher gives Peter a peculiar insight - the spider that bit him and gave him his powers also bit a girl, and she’s been holed up in a bunker for ten years, unable to leave under the threat of Morlund coming back and destroying everything. But, she just might be the one to get Peter out of this grave predicament with all these people wanting his hide! ![]()

A little while ago, an octopus-like alien took a giant chunk out of the moon. He's sent the world into chaos, and has promised to do the same to the Earth. He can fly and move at Mach 20, and traditional weapons do hardly any damage against him even if they do connect. He's decided to settle on Earth for the time being, and has asked to become the teacher of Class 3-E at a middle school - the class of all the academically struggling, misfit, not-involved students who are critically behind their peers school-wise. Since Koro-Sensei (as the students name him based on a pun meaning "can't be killed) is stationery to the classroom, the government has deputized all of the students in 3-E and given them one mission: kill their teacher before graduation, the date he plans on destroying the Earth. But, Koro-Sensei also cares deeply about each one of his students, as he connects with them personally and tries to beef up their academic skills. Some of the students have reservations about trying to kill one of the most caring teachers they've ever had. That's until another student rejoins the class -- one who's been out on suspension for violence, and who has a disturbing dream of killing a teacher.

Cells at Work is fundamentally about the inner workings of the human body. The main characters are Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell. Red Blood Cell is fairly new, and needs to find her way to the lungs to drop off the shipment of CO2 she’s carting around, when she comes across some pretty nasty bacterial guys. Enter White Blood Cell, who isn’t afraid to just blast right through these baddies with his bare fists. When the fight gets too much for White Blood Cell to handle, in comes Helper T Cells, who can tell Killer T Cells to attack. Then there’s B Cells who come with Antibodies to fight serious infections. Influenza threatens to take over at one point by spreading its zombie-like infection to regular cells. One day, Red Blood Cell is working pretty close to the epidermis, and a scrape threatens to pull her out, along with several of her Red Blood Cell buddies. White Blood Cell is there again to save her, especially from the bacteria that immediately infiltrate the cut. But, the bacteria didn’t account for another helpful cell: Platelets.

This story follows the events of Avengers Disassembled and Planet X, but if you don’t have those, don't worry - there’s a summary at the beginning of this book. Scarlet Witch is mentally breaking down after what she did to some teammates in the previously mentioned storylines. The X-men and Avengers come together to figure out what to do with her, and Pietro thinks this meeting is about whether they should kill her or not. He runs off to warn her, and the next thing we know, reality has shifted into a world where mutants are the regular, sapiens (non-mutants) are almost extinct, and every hero pretty much has the life they’ve always wanted. The problem is, Wolverine remembers everything, and so does a little girl, whose mutant powers can help unlock the subconscious of other people and help them remember the way the world was. They have to confront Wanda and make her put everything right, but this leads to an even bigger disaster! ![]()
