Father has gotten into the fight, and neither slayer can cut this demon with their katanas. Tanjiro and Inosuke get separated, and Tanjiro finds himself face to face with one of the Twelve Kizuki, the most powerful demons. Nezuko, in an effort to save Tanjiro, discovers a special power she has with her demon blood. Rui, the most powerful of the spider demons, becomes jealous of the familial bond between Tanjiro and Nezuko, and it angers him even more. Tanjiro’s katana breaks, while both of Inosuke’s katanas break battling Father. Giyu, the slayer from volume one, makes a triumphant comeback and saves Tanjiro from certain death. We also meet a new slayer, Shinobu, whose breathing methods take inspiration from insects, and who uses poisons to take down powerful demons.
A mysterious, powerful warrior named Guts hunts down different demons and Apostles, powerful demons who have large segments of human population under their thrall. Guts goes up against a powerful reptilian demon who is threatening a whole town and feasting off of its villagers. We find out later that Guts is also looking for more members of Godhand, a group that can be identified by the same brand he has on his neck.
Denji and his little devil dog, Pochita (who has a chainsaw coming out of his head), are swimming in a mountain of debt left by Denji’s dad. The two hunt devils to try and pay down the debt, but things go wrong for Denji on one such mission. Pochita saves Denji’s life by fusing with him, giving Denji the power to summon chainsaws from his head and arms! Now, the Public Safety Devil Hunters wants to employ this new, powerful Human-Devil hybrid, and Denji finds himself finally living a little comfortably. But, what now motivates him to keep the public safe? Is it money? Revenge? Boobs?
