In the aftermath of the bus hijacking’s, Anya rides some social status highs and flies too close to the sun, ruining any goodwill and bringing the school back to the pre-hijacking equilibrium. Yor goes out drinking with coworkers and worries her cover will be blown because her fake marriages seems too perfect, but just as she tries to have a fight with Loid, he is called away to the “hospital”, aka an urgent mission — a mole is about to hand over classified documents that may jeopardize not only Twilight’s mission but compromise many other undercover agents. Twilight, Nightfall, and several other operatives must try to retrieve the documents before the SSS agents, including Yuri Briar, intercept the mole.

Allen sets off on his first mission as part of the black order with a partner who doesn’t like anyone very much, Allen included. The two are sent to Italy to retrieve some Innocence that is under the attack of many akuma. Kanda, Allen’s new partner, explains that humans find pieces of Innocence around the world and they are the basis of many ghost story and tall tales, so the Order investigates many of these happenings to recover the Innocence materials behind them. Once Allen and Kanda arrive in Italy, they find an akuma that has transformed thanks to the deaths of many humans, and it had many powers that other akuma haven’t had before.

Reno has been matched with a Numbers Weapon, a suit infused with Kaiju No. 6’s power, and he has one major field test to prove he can handle the power and not overload his own body before they put the suit back into storage, potentially forever. Iharu is upset that Reno has been matched and not him, but he still goes to give support to his compatriot when he’s in need. Elsewhere, Vice-Captain Hoshina takes Kafka out for some hand-to-hand combat training without weapons of transformations as Kafka is going to need to rely more on his own fighting prowess in the coming days.
Gakuro has always been able to see spirits that seem to lurk around people who have overwhelming feelings of anger or sadness. Then, his life changes when he finds a room in his school inhabited by a strange spirit named Nue. In addition to being an Otaku, Nue is also a powerful spirit who imbues Gakuro with part of her power and the ability to fight evil entities who steal power from emotionally vulnerable humans and become vicious. The increase in spirit activity eventually becomes noticed by external exorcists, some of whom want to partner with Gakuro to take on evil entities and protect humans.
