Tanjiro and Genya, another Demon Slayer, are trying to protect the Sword Smith Village from a demon who can multiply himself every time his head is cut off. In another part of the village, the Mist Hashira, Tokito, gets caught up protecting Kotetsu, even though he thinks he should go protect the village. This turns out to be a wise decision because Kotetsu informs him that the sword masters are under attack from another demon at a secluded spot outside the village. Tokito races to help them and finds a terribly powerful demon threatening to destroy the only people who can make nichirin swords!

Nai is a young boy searching for someone important to him, and all he has for a clue is a valuable bracelet that may entangle him with a secretive organization known as Circus. First, he finds himself being saved repeatedly by Gareki, a young man himself who has a tragic past and who society had not treated kindly. Gareki isn’t exactly a law-abiding citizen, having a strong affinity to making and dissecting explosives, and running afoul of Circus himself, the two nevertheless find themselves in the sights of the organization and somewhat on their way to finding Nai’s important person, and finding more about themselves along the way. Set in a world that is past fantasy, past steampunk with flying airships, magical creatures, and possible chimeras.
Kaguya is headstrong, defiant, and certainly not the prim-and-proper princess her mother would hope she would be. But, with the queen's failing health and enemies closing in on all sides to steal the sacred Moon Blade, the queen decides to perform the ascension ceremony and pass the torch down to her upstart daughter. Their enemies had other ideas, however, and the ceremony is beset with attackers, causing them to evacuate and send Kaguya to Tainted World alone. But Earth isn't what Kaguya thought it would be, and she still has to stay ahead of her pursuers who are trying desperately to steal back the Moon Blade and wrest control of the Moon Kingdom from Kaguya's family.
Tanjiro is, once again, in need of a new nichirin sword, but his sword smith refuses to make another sword for him. Instead, Tanjiro gets permission to travel to the village of the sword smiths, which is in a secret location. Once there, he finds the Love Hashira, Mitsubishi Kanroji, who is also waiting for her sword. The village happens to have healing hot springs, which helps with Tanjiro’s slow recovery after his taxing fight with Gyutaro and Daki. Tanjiro also finds the Mist Hashira, Muchiro Tokito, who is bugging a young sword smith named Kotetsu. Kotetsu has access to a special training doll that has been passed down in his family for generations and it is supposedly one of the best training tools for Demon Slayers, but no one knows how to fix it if it breaks.
Uzui and Tanjiro continue to take on Gyutaro while Inosuke and Zenitsu battle Daki. The team realizes that they need to coordinate their efforts to behead the demons together because the sibling demons are able to protect each other from dying. Uzui's wives also, somewhat, get involved, by hurling wisteria-dipped daggers at the demons, even though the Slayers take some as collateral damage. The Slayers also have to try to avoid Gyutaro's powerful poisonous Demon Blood Art sickles, which take Uzui out of the fight and leave Tanjiro facing an Upper Twelve Kizuki on his own.
In the fight against Daki in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro reaches his limits discovers he can fuel some extra powerful attacks with his anger, but it comes at a physical price that leaves him weakened. Nezuko saves him yet again and unleashes some devastating blood demon arts of her own and loses herself in some rage-fueled power as well. She transforms and comes very close to eating a human. Just when the Slayers think they have Daki on the ropes, she reveals she isn't alone, and out comes her brother, Gyutaro!
Tengen Uzui, the Hashira of Sound, has lost contact with all three of his wives. They were under cover in an Entertainment District that he suspected was being operated by a demon. He recruits Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke to go undercover dressed as young girls to join a Courtesan house to find out what happened but also to investigate where the demon might be hiding and taking humans. Each of the guys joins a different Oiran courtesan house to investigate, some more convinsingly than others - Inosuke's beautfiul face gets him by as long as he doesn't speak; Tanjiro is found out almost immediately, but his kindhearted mistress doesn't mind since he is so helpful; but Zenitsu has the worst luck with his disguise and is captured almost immediately!
