He was imprisoned for 300 years while the goddess siphoned his power away. History Comics: The National Parks: Preserving America's Wild Places
Follow Bigfoot and Eagle through an historical look at the founding of America's National Parks. Bigfoot embodies the spirit of National Parks and explains to Eagle, the embodiment of the American People, how they all came to be. We start off with Yosemite and Yellowstone, and take a look at what acts of Congress and presidential actions made pieces of the country into National Parks. We also take a look at the founding of Park Rangers, and what their role was in preserving the parks from human disruption. As the idea of parks changed, activists were able to argue that land of historical significance, not just natural beauty, could become a National Park, as is the case with Mesa Verde National Park.
Silver Eve is coming, and the Atelier has been asked to help out. With his grandfather still in the hospital, Tartah, Coco’s friend and masterless apprentice, needs help running their booth in a prime location for the festival. Tartah and Coco also spend a significant amount of energy trying to make the world easier to navigate for their friend Custas, who has lost the use of his legs. They create an ingenious flying cape for him. As they muse philosophically about magic not going more directly to the people who could benefit from it most, bandits attack Custas and his master in hopes of getting his cape. Help comes from a witch, but probably not through methods The Order would teach or condone.
Grace’s entire village is plagued by a fast-spreading infection of Dark-bark, an evilness that grows from dark magic of the worst kind. Infected people (and animals) slowly grow bark over their skin, sprout little trees, and eventually, can’t resist the urge to recede into the forest and follow the candles of the evil witch. In another town, Ava and Idris struggle to survive as they are kicked out of town after town for being spell-casters. While trying to find shelter for the night in the forest, Idris and Ava discover the dark bark infection, and Idris becomes infected. They race to find the source of the magic so they can reverse everything. Grace, meanwhile, is tired of waiting and watching everyone in her village leave as infected folk. They barely keep her mother from venturing into the forest, and that’s when she becomes completely fed up. She decides to take matters into her own hands and confront the witch in the forest, or possibly even find a spell that can stop all of this for good.

In the last volume, Myne gathered some reeds and cut them down very small in order to make papyrus. In this volume, she starts weaving her very thin strands together, but it’s just too hard of work for her small hands. Her mother weaves cloth on an apparatus in order to prepare for Tuuli’s baptism ceremony coming in the summer, and Myne wants to make a hairpin for her to liven up the outfit. Dad makes a small wooden crochet needle and hairpin, while Myne crochets a few flowers. Myne decides that she next wants to try making clay tablets, but she needs to build up enough strength to actually walk to the forest first. The first goal is to make it to the gate: if she makes it, Otto will teacher her how to write while she rests, then she can come home. Myne helps Otto with some of the math on his year end under report, so he thinks having her as an unofficial assistant would be great! Myne finally makes it to the forest and finds some clay, but the tablets don’t turn out the way she wants them to.
