Konosuke wakes covered in bandages and can’t remember a thing. As he slowly recovers, he realizes he had a job to report to in a few days, so he focused on recovering from whatever made him so injured. His memory is still very hazy, but this has happened before. He slightly remembers two other people, but can’t make anything more out. Meanwhile, Tsuki and her captors are on their way to their destination and reveal the memory wipe on Konosuke has been successful. In another part of Edo, a young blind ichiko (fortune teller) has arrived. Aki looks to set up shop while she tracks down the descendants of the woman who saved her mother. Her quest leads her to the doorstep of Konosuke just as he recovers his memories and becomes distraught at Tsuki’s disappearance, and Aki finds herself entangled in Konosuke’s quest.
Volume two picked up right where the action left off and put us in a precarious situation with Konosuke's missing memories. The frustration and sense of urgency throughout this volume kept the pages flying. Aki is another interesting character who gets woven into the narrative here, and her power to see the future makes things very interesting. The magic that gets slowly revealed throughout makes everything mysterious and entices me to keep reading, so I'm thoroughly hooked in figuring out how Konosuke is going to save his wife, how Aki plays into all of this, and what all of these bad guys want with Tsuki in the first place.

Vol 1's review is in Booklist, so it doesn't give me a lot of room for nuanced reviews and explanation. This title is overall best for older teen/adult collections, and there is one scene of nudity in volume 1 when Konosuke and Tsuki consummate their marriage, so some school collections might find that difficult to collect. Since manga stories are highly sequential, it's hard to start with volume 2. You probably won't see it checked out very much.
