Naruto By Masashi Kishimoto![]()
UPFRONT WARNING: MAJOR PURCHASE COMMITMENT (72 volumes)
Naruto's original run began in 1999, but with any hot commodity, it has been turned into an animated series, had its run extended, has a sequel, and a few other things, all to keep it within the public eye for as long as possible. Despite it's 20-year-old roots, Naruto is extremely popular, so it is worth the investment, but it will cost a lot to get all these books (not to mention if your readers also want the next in the series, Boruto).
Naruto is a ninja in a world where elements are important, animals can inhabit people's bodies, and everyone seems to be some sort of ninja fighter. Naruto wants to become the leader of his village, but, of course, he must go through so many trials and years of training before that can happen. As you can imagine, with 72 volumes of storyline, there are tons of adventures, and Naruto proves himself over and over again. One of the great things about this long run is that the cast of supporting characters is so rich and plentiful. There are quite a few supporters that are far more interesting than Naruto himself (hence why you'll see more cosplays of Naruto characters than Naruto himself).
