Team Z is fighting against elimination from Blue Lock in an intense match against Team V. They've been betrayed by one of their own, Kuon, who has decided that, as their top scorer, he will go on no matter what, so he'll save his efforts for when it matters more in later fights. Team V also has a superstar who started playing soccer only a few months ago, Seishiro Nagi, who is sort of bored with everything and takes all his cues from another teammate, Reo Mikage. Isagi uses his spacial awareness technique to see when Reo is going to use Nagi's insane speed, which negates both of them as threats on the field. Team Z fights back from a 0-3 score to tie the game at 3-3 and stun both Team V and Kuon, who thought Team Z had no chance in heck without him.

I've switched over to collecting the hardcover editions of this book, so this review is for volumes 4-6 of the individual tankobon books.
Auntie has come back to the forest with Shiva, and, despite not getting along with Teacher, the two decide to try living all together for Shiva's sake. But, Teacher is not as forthcoming with his pupil as he should be, as he knows what is going to eventually happen to Auntie, even though he strangely seems to be immune to the worst of becoming an Outsider. Later, the guards from the city start to hunt Shiva, so she and Teacher pack up to move across the countryside to another settlement where Auntie had some relatives. The small farming village is already deserted, and the two stay hidden until the snow falls.

In this world, any woman who is past child-bearing years has been deemed useless to society and is banished to a remote island off the coast of any civilization. There, these women have made their own society and rules a-la Lord of the Flies. There is a group dedicated to helping with anyone deceased; there are the Red Hats who seem bent on destruction and domination; and there's Rosie and her friends, Lottie, and Caroline, who just want to raise chickens, have tea, and keep to themselves. Jay has been thrust into this world a little unexpectedly, having gone through early-onset menopause, and is now seen as a threat to the equally young leader of the Red Hats. There's also lots of backmatter that includes book reviews, recipes, and insights into the workings of the island.

One of their own betrays them, however, hoping to be able to stay on after Team Z is kicked out by being a top scorer. All of their weapons and strategies are leaked to their opponent, and the betrayer even stops helping Team Z midway through the game, making it effectively 12-on-10. Luckily for Team Z, their next opposing team believes they can win on their own terms and reject the chance to win by cheating. Now, Team Z will have to figure out how to play with a teammate who clearly doesn't want to be on their team any more!

Lelo, the grandson, and Pavel, the old man, have some secrets of their own - Lelo is a highly skilled fighter with unnatural speed, and Pavel used to be a famous adventurer and treasure seeker. The four are helped along the way by true believers who recognize Talli for who she really is: a descendent from the Moon Goddess, and the last Summoner.
