Gojo has a theory that curses and cursed energy are becoming more powerful and more deadly, on both sides of the fight. The higher ups with the Jujutsu Order don’t necessarily want to hear him out, but his case is proven for him with the next bad guy we meet. He can transform the soul of anything he touches, and his current delight is experimenting on humans to see how far he can take them. His latest experiment is witnessed by Junpei, who wasn’t particularly fond of the three boys he saw transformed. Mahito, the cursed spirit, takes Junpei back to his lair and reveals some of his evil plan while bonding with Junpei over the evilness of humans. Itadori and a Grade 1 sorcerer, Kento Nanami, are put on the case to investigate, and this leads to Itadori becoming somewhat of a friend to Junpei. The two bond over their love of movies. Junpei, though, is used by Mahito to get to Itadori, and tragedy strikes close to home, causing Junpei to lash out with murderous intent.

Alexa moves in with her grandpa in Savannah after her parents are arrested for nonviolent offenses. Her google-able past makes her an instant target for the school bullies, but she also finds some friends a group of three girls: Chloe, Skye, and Fae. The four blow off some steam after school one day with a drunken bonfire in the forest, and they come back with more than they bargained for. All four start exhibiting signs that they've delved into the Fae world and are slowly transforming into fairies. To make it worse, Alexa's grandpa starts dating a woman who also seems like she has fairy magic, and she's not leaving Alexa's family and friends alone until she restores a powerful fairy to the Fae world - someone she feels is in Alexa's friend group. 
In volume 2, Yatora attends a summer prep academy to help hone his skills for the TUA (Tokyo University of the Arts). The classes focus on oil paintings, which is one part of the lengthy admissions process to get into the university. The instructor, Ooba-sensei, doesn’t pull any punches when letting Yatora know that his art is lacking in composition, originality, and expression. She urges him to study composition, and to look at art to figure out what he likes. Yatora goes to a couple of museums with some classmates and finds a few pieces he likes. He also practices with tons of different art pieces and enrages his classmates with his lack of understanding of composition, but by the end of the volume, he's done a lot of hard work and improved moderately in these important aspects of creating art.
Shiraishi has a problem; people often can’t see him or don’t notice him. The teacher often skips right over him during roll and never calls on him to answer questions. But there’s one person who can always see him and always finds him; his seat neighbor, Kubo. She teases him about his invisibility and tries to “help” him be more seen by raising her hand and telling the teacher he has the right answer, even if he doesn’t. She also tries sitting on him for a length of time to see if other students notice and speak up. Kubo invites Shiraishi to spend part of Christmas together, which is a romantic gesture in Japan. She shows up with a gift for Shiraishi and gives him time to find her one at a shop nearby.
Kanade and Munechika have been friends for their entire life. Kanade has feelings for Munechika that he'll never express because Chika is an Alpha, and Kanade is a Beta. In this world of the Omegaverse, Alphas and Omegas most often become mates for the procreation of the human race, but it's very rare an Alpha and a Beta would. One day, Kanade becomes suddenly very ill with a fever, fatigue, and weakness. A trip to the doctor's office reveals he's in heat - he's actually an omega! The doctor gives him some suppressants, but the only thing that can truly make him feel better is by coupling with an Alpha, and Chika is there to support his friend. The two move in together and their moms hope they become mates, but neither can bring himself to admin their true feelings for fear of trapping the other into a mated couple they don't wish to be part of.
Haruhi attends the prestigious Ouran High School on a scholarship. Most students at this school are from well-to-do families. One day, while trying to find a quiet place to study, Haruhi enters a music room and finds a Host Club, a group of male students who provide companionship, conversation, and flirtation to bored female students. Haruhi accidentally knocks over an $80,000 vase and is forced to work for the Host Club to pay off the debt. The hosts make-over Haruhi and provide an actual school uniform suit, since Haruhi has to get 100 customer referrals in order to pay back the debt. Club "king", Tamaki, takes special interest in Haruhi and delights in piling on the torture and teasing. At some point, Tamaki finds Haruhi's ID, and realizes Haruhi is biologically female, but the Host Club assumed Haruhi was male. Haruhi doesn't care for the gender binary, but is rather more worried about working off the debt and maintaining good grades to keep the scholarship.
This slice-of-life story focuses on several high school students, including one who is a robot. Nano is trying to lead a normal high school life, but the giant wind-up key protruding from her back means all her classmates know she’s a robot despite Nano trying to hide it. Yukko and Mio talk constantly about homework because Yukko often forgets to do it. The serious Mia often times sits out the crazy antics of Yukko or participates in unconventional ways that drive Yukko crazy.
Hotaru is pretty sure she’s the type of person who will never fall in love. So she thinks nothing of it when she shares her umbrella with the despondent Hananoi, who has just been dumped. He asks her out and thinks she’s the girl of his dreams, but Hotaru only agrees to go out with him on a trial basis for a month. Hananoi is determined to do everything to get Hotaru to love him, so he does extreme stunts like digging in the snow for a few hours to help find a lost hair pin. To her surprise, she enjoys spending time with him, but by the end of the trial period, she still hasn’t figure out if she loves him or not. Is what she feels actually love, or just fondness for a person?
Senpai meets Nagatoro in the library one day as he spilled his bag’s contents and she and her friends saw his fledgling Managka. They make fun of him briefly but leave, except for Nagatoro. She’s found a new target, and latches on to Senpai with merciless teasing about him being a virgin, liking dirty manga, and making him draw her repeatedly for his art projects. She constantly shows up unexpectedly, even at an out-of-the-way restaurant Senpai goes to after school one day. There, her friends and an upper classman talk about his band and an upcoming show. Nagatoro is unenthusiastic and uninterested in this senpai, which baffles Senpai.
Uenoyama has found the perfect napping spot at school, but he’s miffed one day to find another guy sitting there. This new person is clutching a guitar with broken and rusty strings, which morally offends Uenoyama, a serious guitarist. He fixes the strings and reluctantly gives it back, and the newcomer begs Uenoyama to teach him guitar. After wearing him down, Mafuyu finally gets Uenoyama to teach him. Uenoyama dreads the task until Mafuyu sings, and Mafuyu’s voice pierces Uenoyama. He introduces Mafuyu to his band mates, Akihito and Haruki, who are both also stunned by Mafuyu’s vocal talents. When a classmate tells Uenoyama that Mafuyu dated a boy in junior high, and that the boy committed suicide, he must figure out what he thinks and feels about Mafuyu, or decide to ignore this information completely.
