Riftan returns from the celebration in the capital to find foreign soldiers trying to penetrate his walls. His advisors manage to barely escape international incident as Riftan’s temper and protectiveness for Maxi threatens to escalate the entire situation. As tensions ease, Riftan is finally able to show Maxi all of the gifts he’s brought from the capital, including a beautiful new horse that she uses to join him on rides across Anatol. Maxi begins studying with Ruth and helping him with creating magical devices for protecting Anatol, as she has magical affinity and is literate. She continues to fear that someone will discover that she is a fraud of a noblewoman, incapable of leading people or being the head of a household.

The two "newlyweds" begin their life figuring out each other, refurbishing a neglected castle, and navigating kingdom politics.

FOS is hosting an in-person event, so Akane decides to show up looking extra cute in an attempt to make her ex jealous. Instead, she runs into an annoying member of her guild who has been rude to her online! In an effort to not look desperate, Akane gets the flippant Yamada to pose as her boyfriend, and ends up tangled with him even after the meet up despite his terrible attitude!

When her aloof father suddenly takes an interest in her, it seems her plans of skulking away will be ruined as he interprets her behavior as invitation to find her a new suitor! |
