Frieren and Denken square off against their respective opponents: Frieren against Solitär and Denken against Macht, as Frieren finishes analyzing the diagoldze curse that Macht put on Weise. There is a fierce battle between the four opponents, but mostly Solitär annoys Frieren by talking too much and showing stalling as her main battle tactic. Denken uses Frieren's logic that Zoltraak is a fairly new spell in Macht's lifetime, and it seems to be working, to a degree. After the fights, it's back on the road to the North, and Frieren continues to pick up odd jobs for different small villages along the way in exchange for interesting grimoires.
