The leader of the Night Kids shows up on Mount Akina and challenges Takumi to a race. After that, a driver named Shingo from the Night Kids shows up and bumps Iketani-sensei in his Silvia that just came back from the shop. Itsuki buys a Levin, thinking it was an Eight Six, but it turns out to be an Eight Five. After initially being ridiculed by the Speed Stars, Takumi convinces his friend that owning a car is amazing, and still manages to get down the mountain in record time. Shingo challenges Takumi to a race, which Takumi accepts in order to preserve Iketani's honor, but Shingo adds a stipulation: the drivers must duck tape their right hand to the steering wheel to keep things more interesting.

Orphan Kotarou has just moved back into his grandparents’ home outside the Takao region as he has inherited it, and he’s reliving some of his fuzzy childhood memories. One day, he is asked to tour guide to some friends to a local shrine, and some of his memories start to trickle back. He remembers a day on a trip to that same shrine where he met a tengu girl. That night, he comes back to the temple again and finds himself in an arranged marriage situation with Hime, the tengu from his memories! But she dreams of seeing the outside world and experiencing lots of different food. Kotarou agrees she should, which Hime interprets as an offer to live in his house.

High school student Chika thinks there might be something wrong with her. In doing so, the cleaners discover something unsettling and unusual about this beast. The Ball finally arrives, and Abigail and Blanche make a splash with matching dresses designed by Abigail. They’re in the style of chemise A la Reine, one by Marie Antiunette that doesn’t require a corset or panniers, so it’s perfect for the summertime ball. Also at the ball is Lady Karen Stoke, sister to Abigail’s mother, who is Abigail’s rival and would love nothing more than to usurp Abigail. Later, Abigail hosts a tea party and Karen comes in another dress style, mi-parti, and instead of showing Abigail up, she becomes an object of fascination as Abigail explains the intricacies of the dress to the attendees.

A brave and inquisitive young unicorn named Unico who befriends anyone he comes across draws the ire of the jealous goddess Venus because of his influence on humanity. She banishes him but Zephyr takes pity and hides Unico throughout time, wiping his memory to hide him from the vengeful goddess. In one such trip through time, Unico finds himself in the care of the Neighborhood Watch Cat Chloe who hopes to find herself a witch, but secretly wishes she could be human to fully fend for herself. The two end up helping an older woman in a small village while trying to steer clear of Byron, a local hunter who has been picking off animals for his trophy room.
In this leg of the journey, the adventurers find themselves at the home of Sissel, the Lunatic Magician and Lord of the Dungeon, and find a disorganized mess of dirty dishes, broken mirrors, a library in disarray, and the bodies of Delgal’s family around a table. The party decides to clean the house while they scour for signs of the imprisoned Winged Lion. Sissel catches on to their activities, so they lay a trap for Falin and plan to take on the Lunatic Magician. As Sissel bemoans his now clean house, we learn how he became the Lord of the Dungeon in his attempt to protect the people of the Golden Kingdom.
