Matty has proven to be one of, if not the, strongest student at the Second Academy. The teachers ask him to lead a class on wordless magic casting, and his condition is being able to train with the two sisters, Lurie and Alma, in the dungeon below the school. He teaches them more wordless magic, but also fighting and weapon styles that compliment their crests. The headmaster enters the three into a battle with First Academy, something they haven't won in years, but with Matty's special skills and the sisters' extra training, they trounce the First Academy. But, Matty also discovers one of the Magical Chosen Ones, special extra strong sages, is actually a demon in disguise. He theorizes that the reason magic and knowledge has been derailed in this time period, is from demons messing with human society. Now, he has a few months to get everything ready for a potential demon onslaught.

There aren’t many customers to be found in this war-torn, post-apocalyptic landscape. One day, on his way to find some customers, Gordon narrowly misses running over an air-conditioned sleeping bag in the middle of the road. Inside the bag is a naked woman who is ravenously hungry. Gordon brings her aboard the truck and sets out some food and water, which she devours instantly. She proceeds to the devour all of the BTLs he made, plus pretty much all of his other provisions, prompting a trip to the desert ocean where he can fish for wildlife that has evolved since the oceans dried up. Later, Gordon and his new companion help a town being held hostage to make beer at a brewery, and the military catches up with them. Both Gordon and Arisa seem to have a past with the military, and this shared adversity makes them deadly fighting partners against the trained soldiers.

Yochi Isagi is a striker in his high school club soccer team, and his team’s hopes for nationals are dashed by a loss Isagi might have been able to prevent if he had taken the shot instead of passed. But soon, he and 300 other high school soccer stars are summoned by the Japanese Football Union. Upon arrival, they are greeted by Jinpachi Ego, a lanky, unsettling man with a premium soccer mind. He has devised Blue Lock, an enclosed facility with a Hunger Games/Squid Games style, cutthroat, elimination element designed to train and turn out Japan’s best striker. Ego’s main theory is that Japanese soccer lacks the egotism to produce the best striker, that Japanese soccer players are taught to cooperation above all else. Isagi and the 299 others are drawn in, and they enter this strange world of battle-soccer. Team Z - Isagi and his roommates - must train together, compete with each other, and somehow (not) work together to defeat 25 other teams to become the best striker in Japan. |
