CSLA Presentation - Supersize your Graphic Novel Section 2025

After taking a year off, I returned with my popular presentation sharing title recommendations and other wisdom for your graphic novel section. This year, there was some discussion beforehand about how to get teachers on board with students reading and checking out graphic novels. I decided to add some information into the presentation to hopefully help with some of our educator friends who are still not quite sure about the educational merits of graphic novels and manga in particular. A lot of this was adapted from our book Manga Goes to School, which I am immensely proud of and provides many more resources for those looking to dive in deeper!

I offer this caveat - I make my recommendations about where to place titles, so if you want to know whether something can be put in a different library, I would recommend reading it for yourself to decide whether it is a good fit for your library and community.
